The Durham Montessori Homeschool Group

Meet other families from Durham and the surrounding area that have chosen to take responsibility for educating their children at home with a focus on the Montessori approach to education. Families with children between the ages of 2.5 and 6.5 will be our focus as this is the age Montessori refers to as the "Absorbent Mind" period.

Our ultimate goal is to create a true Montessori classroom for our group and this will be our first priority. To this end, we hope to pool resources, ideas, energy, etc. to create a homeschool experience that will satisfy and exceed all our expectations.

Families not using the Montessori approach are also welcome to join us for our social events, as are families with older children. We hope to offer the greater community of Durham homeschoolers and un-schoolers opportunities to gather for social and educational events.
